Choosing the right cosmetic tattoo artist is crucial—not just for achieving stunning results, but also for ensuring your safety and satisfaction. Here’s everything you need to consider before booking your appointment.
1. Check their Portfolio
A great artist will have a large portfolio showcasing their work. This will showcase their skillset, experience and their art style. (and when I say artist style, this is something I really need you to consider as every artist will have their own unique way and style they use when tattooing)
With their portfolio you want to pay attention to the consistency and quality of their work. Look for clear unedited before and after photos from all angles. Focus on symmetry, colour application and above all their healed results!!! Because this is ultimately what you’ll end up with. If the artist has raw videos with no filters this is also a bonus!
Read Client Reviews and Testimonials
Client feedback can give you a real insight into the experience and results you can expect from this artist. Look for reviews on various platforms such as Google, Instagram, Facebook, or the artists social media. Reviews can provide insight into the overall client experience, results and whether people are happy long term with the work.
3. Look For a Personal Connection
Since this is an investment in yourself, you should feel comfortable with the artists personality and approach. A personal connection with your artist can make the difference between an enjoyable experience and a stressful one. After all, this person is enhancing your face, so trust and comfort are just as important as technique. A great artist will be patient, attentive and willing to adapt to your preferences. You can gage this several ways. If the artist has a good social presence take a look at their socials, do they jump on and show their face? Do they educate through their stories or posts? Are they Informative?
